Our School Parliament
Earl Sterndale School Parliament
Our School Parliament is made up of pupils elected by other pupils to represent their views and help improve school life. It meets at least twice every half-term to discuss ideas and issues such as playtimes, behaviour, and fundraising, and helps us to "make good decisions together".
Parliament members take responsibility for sharing updates, organising events, and helping bring ideas to life—whether that’s planning new playground activities or deciding how to spend raised funds.
Being part of the School Parliament helps children learn about democracy, teamwork and leadership. It encourages everyone to get involved by sharing ideas, solving problems and making positive changes.
Older pupils help run meetings and take notes, supported by a member of staff. We ensure that meetings happen regularly and provide guidance when needed.
We want our school to be a happy, respectful, and safe place where everyone tries their best, supports one another and enjoys learning. The School Parliament plays a key role in helping us achieve this.
