In Class 2 Computing, we follow a four-year rolling programme based on the Teach Computing curriculum. This curriculum has been purpose built by the National Centre for Computing Education (a Department for Education funded organisation) and is designed to ensure that ‘every child in every school in England has a world-leading computing education’. This therefore provides a detailed and comprehensive introduction to the world of information technology and computing for our children. In class, we study various branches of ICT – including Computing Systems and Technology, Creating Media, Programming, and Data and Information – ensuring that children receive a solid foundation for their knowledge. All of this is underpinned by the continuous teaching and embedding of Online Safety. Modules have been carefully selected to build on prior knowledge and skills, whilst ensuring all children work collaboratively when possible.
