Art & Design in Class 2 is based on our KAPOW curriculum, which builds on the skills learned in Class 1. Our Art & Design curriculum runs on a four-year rolling programme to ensure pupils study a wide-variety of artistic disciplines and skills during their time in Class 2. We study Art & Design every other half-term, opposite Design & Technology. The modules we study have been selected to build on prior knowledge and skills, both over the academic year and on previous years’ learning. Art & Design is an essential part of the primary curriculum and aims to ensure all pupils have the opportunity to express themselves creatively; children also study a range of famous Artists and Designers to understand how they have contributed to society and the world of art.
