Current Activities

We have been busy making some benches for our forest school camp. We used a bow saw and tied them up with rope using lashings.

Climbing at whitehall

Willow weaving. We have learnt how to make stars and wreaths. We have also made some big bumble bees for the garden.

We have been learning about traditional crafts. Ben came in to help us make some benches. We used lots of different tools such as hammers, clamps and chisels.

This term the juniors have been working hard to improve their core skills of balance, agility and flexibility through weekly trips to the indoor climbing wall at Whitehall. Whilst improving fitness and developing new skills the children are combining their experiences with literacy by learning climbing terminology, setting personal goals and reviewing performance.

Climbing Festival at Earl Sterndale!

In September this year we hosted the first small schools climbing festival in the area! We hired the two Derbyshire mobile climbing walls and invited children from Peak Forest and Dove Holes School to join in the fun!
