Head's Welcome
Our school, Governors and staff warmly welcome you to Earl Sterndale C of E Primary School.
We are a small, rural village school with a strong community ethos. With just two classes—Class 1 (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) and Class 2 (Years 3–6)—we pride ourselves on knowing our children well and supporting them as individuals. Care, respect and kindness are at the heart of our school, and keeping everyone safe, happy and valued is paramount.
Our school vision, Making Good Decisions Together, underpins everything we do. We believe that good decisions are rooted in integrity, kindness and responsibility, and that children learn these best through relationships, reflection and example. Whether we are thinking about learning, behaviour, community, the environment, or health and wellbeing, we focus on developing the skills and knowledge children need to evaluate choices, act honestly and treat others with compassion.
As Headteacher, I am committed to leading with kindness, fairness and high expectations, modelling the values we want our children to live by. With the support of our school community, families and friends, we help children understand that their choices matter, that mistakes are part of learning, and that Christian values should be lived out every day, not just talked about.
Guided by our deeply rooted Christian ethos and British Values, we aim to nurture resilience, independence, curiosity, responsibility, respect, trust, compassion, tolerance and care. We strive to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child. Our spectacular setting allows us to embrace outdoor learning, alongside personalised approaches and support from a range of external services, ensuring enriching and inclusive experiences for all.
Please feel free to call us or pop in to have a look around. We would be delighted to welcome you.
