Climbing at Whitehall Week 1 -Jan 24
During our first week at climbing this year we learnt some of the rules of climbing. They are very important to keep us safe!
We played some warm-up games. Our favourite game is the Shark!
We learnt how to traverse the wall, how to unclip a caribiner and the names of the various holds on the wall.
Jugs are large, round, and smooth holds that provide a lot of surface area for your hand or fingers to grip inside. Crimps are small, narrow holds that we grip with our fingertips. Pockets in climbing are depressions in the rock face that are deep enough to fit one or more fingers and natural features, which are bumps and ridges in the rock surface which help us climb. We had a great time!
